SWAP and SHOP

Ok, ladies, this swapping and shopping is not for clothes, furniture, etc. We are at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for a car show. A friend is trying to sell a car here. Gates open this morning at 8:00. The vintage cars here are divided into two groups; one section is for show cars only. The other one is for the sale cars.  It honestly looks like a filming for Grease, American Graffiti, etc.

What blessings this morning --  we have gotten up in the 5th wheel to a beautiful sunrise and cool temps here in the DFW area. It's going to be a great day!

Sam-I-Am

 I just love finding stuff at Sam's Wholesale.

I had searched all over the place for an ice cream freezer. Most stores had either sold out or didn't get any this year. Now what's that about? Especially here in 100+ degrees Texas!! Anyway, Marilyn and I were stopping in to pick up some extra stuff for the weekend. I decided just to check, you know by some small chance, if they had one. Low and behold they didn't just have one; they had a whole stack of them. Woohoo---made my day!

Then right beside the freezers these cute little things were stacked. This ceramic red one just shouted out to me. It was even marked down! I can tell you for sure....it dispensed great amounts of tea during the 4th weekend.

And speaking of weekends.....have a great one!!

After a packed June of studying, testing and all those kind of things. I am through. Summer began yesterday!! I am so excited; I don't have to pack up to leave this afternoon!!

Ramblings About the Upcoming Weekend

It's that time again. Packing up for the weekend to head to..............

We had such a good time back in November and have been looking forward to another fun weekend with family and friends at the races. This year NASCAR fans seem to be so excited that the big race will be Saturday night "under the lights".

Papa surprised Jonah with his own tickets this year.

Also Jerry's coming in from Cambodia.  Will be so glad to get him back on U.S. soil (at least for a few weeks)!

Sharing Sunday....

After our worship service this morning, we had our luncheon. Potlucks are the best! My chocolate cake was all gone. Love it when you get to bring home an empty dish.

This afternoon I brought out the quilt squares ("My Twenty-Four Piece Puzzle") I shared with you a couple of months ago. I started on sashes and borders. I'm hoping to get more done this week.

Weekend Wonders

Just wanted to share a few of the highlights of our weekend. 

We took Jonah, the RV, and went to the lake for a quick camping trip.

There was a great playground right around the corner of our campsite. 

I love this! Jonah worked on his bike--for real.

Always...Patsy Cline

I love going to musicals and plays.  Last night Rick and I went to an area playhouse  to watch "Always...Patsy Cline." Whether we were born or not, we have all probably heard of her. I had seen the show several years ago so I knew what to expect. This is a great show so if you ever get the chance, put it on your calendar. Now, I will say if you don't like country music at ALL, then you probably won't enjoy it. The show is crammed packed full of all her hits. However, the storyline behind the play itself I would venture to say you could relate to. It's the TRUE story of Patsy's friendship with a Houston housewife named Louise Seger. Their friendship began one evening over a simple, strong cup of coffee. Through sharing life stories, cares, and concerns, they became forever pen pals until her death several years later. 

 There is one song that has jumped out at me both times I have seen this show. It is called "Come on In." Read through these lyrics carefully.

It feels sooooo good today to get some things done around the house to start the week off. Got the house vacuumed, floors mopped, the laundry done, pot roast cooking, and it's not even noon yet! Anybody impressed besides me?
