Girls' Utah Trip

We just spent eight days in the southern Utah area. We flew into St. George, Utah. We explored the "Mighty Five National Parks," two state parks, and two Navajo tribal parks. We actually were in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada on one or two consecutive day all with different time zones.

Our national parks in order of our favs were:

Bryce Canyon National Park (the hoodoos)

Capitol Reef National Park

Arches National Park

Canyonland National Park

Zion National Park

We got to spend the night in Monument Valley on Friday.

Saturday morning we took a Cultural Navajo Tour. Our guide was terrific, and we learned so much about their life.

On Sunday, we went to Page, Arizona where we did the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Overlook Tour. It was fantastic. The slot canyons are magnificent and definitely were an overall favorite for the whole trip!

We were so close we drove to Las Vegas. We spent one night downtown which was a treat; I had stayed on the strip but never downtown.  We went back to St. George and flew home Tuesday evening. What a trip!

Keeping the Grands

Justin and Keelie went on an early birthday trip for Keelie's upcoming 40th Tuesday through Saturday. John and Alicia went with them to New Hampshire and Vermont.
We had Jonah, Glory and Molly while Mary had the Gage boys. Marilyn also had Fitz for the week. So we stayed busy and on the go.

A few pics to tell the story.....

GT Homecoming Activities

On Wednesday, Rick and I met Jenna in Frisco to get Marlow and Jackson. Jerry and I took them to the homecoming tailgate party. They enjoyed Glory doing some face painting on them. The bubble machine went over well for Molly and them.

On Thursday, Jenna came to Gunter after work. We all went to Jonah's football game.

Jared came in Friday, and Justin was off. We went to the varsity game.

During the week's activities, Jonah exchanged mums/garter with a friend and even went to his first homecoming dance on Saturday. I think they ended up staying a short time and probably enjoyed the pizza afterwards more. They sure looked cute!

Jenna, Jared and the kids left after church and lunch. It was such a great weekend!

Side note:  We missed Marilyn during all this. She and Rickie were at a sprinkler convention in San Diego.

Another San Diego Trip in the Books

Tim, Rick and I flew to San Diego Thursday to see Marci and Donnie again. We took the 6:00 a.m. flight. We had a great breakfast in Old Town. We visited Point Loma and the Cabrillo National Monument. I actually remembered I had been there before with Marilyn and Cheyrl. Another great thing we visited was the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial; this was such a special place.

On Friday, we had tickets to the Blue Angels' Airshow at Miramar again. We had the same setup as last year that included tent seating. The weather was great; it was such a fun day.

We drove to Los Angeles to tour Warner Brothers Studio on Saturday. I absolutely loved this tour!

Sunday we enjoyed some time at the house after breakfast down at the beach. Then we drove to Coronado Island again. We flew home yesterday. It was a great trip.
