Our Dear John Deere

Rick has been very busy these past few weeks. Our special John Deere "vintage" tractor blew a gasket several months ago. He had some help with the major work. But then he took the opportunity to replace some parts and spray a little paint. He took the top off the tractor where he could pull it in his shop, and then the work began. When the 100+ degree days hit, he cranked up his window A/C unit out there and kept right on working.  He even replaced the old torn seat with a cute new yellow one! He's not through with it, but it was rather exciting to see it out running again!

His shop.....

Working....

The first trial run....

He's not really a cowboy but he sure needed that hat. It was 100 on his trial run day and for someone who sees the dermatologist twice a year for major stuff, a cowboy hat and tennis shoes work just fine.

"Ahh,paint it green boy
In John Deere Green!"

  4. What a sweet looking tractor. That heat must be so hard to work in.

  6. Hi there, Love the tractor and I know several men and boys in our family who would love it too. We are having nice hot weather here as well-probably hard on those out in the fields but I love it-it was so long in getting here.
    Have a blessed day.

  13. How fun! Your husband looks right at home on the tractor. When my daughter Megan was little she was given a toy John Deere tractor for her birthday by her uncle who was a farmer. I thought it was the sweetest gift because he picked it out for her! :) We still have it packed away somewhere. Thanks for sharing!

    Have a wonderful day!
