Going, Going...Gone

Marilyn, Greg, Chad, Jenna, and I are leaving for Washington, D.C. in the morning. Marilyn is the only one that has been there before; she is our official trip planner and guide. We are looking forward to touring the White House, Capitol, and all the museums. Quite by accident, we will be there to experience the cherry blossom festival as well. Who knows what craziness we will see as a result of all the action that has come down the pike in the last couple of days there. We will be taking some detours on our own. We've rented a car for one day to go out to Mt. Vernon. I think I may learn more on this trip than I could ever imagine!

I will look forward to getting back with the rest of my family and you on Monday!

  3. Have a wonderful time. There is LOTS to see. I can't wait to see your pictures. My favorite memorials are FDR, Albert Einstein and Korean War... My son HAD to have his picture with Abe the last time we were there. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unkown is very moving.
I have the name of a wonderful driver with a 15 passenger touring van, should y'all be interested...

    Have fun!

  4. Oh have fun! Cait went 2 years ago and just loved it! Her favorite part of the trip (besides the Library of Congress - she is her mother's daugher lol) was Mount Vernon. She said it's absolutely gorgeous and she has the pictures to prove it! Have a great trip and ignore all the nonsense :) Kathy

  9. Have fun! Can't wait to hear about it. Wear comfortable shoes. I thought I did when we went, but I somehow created blisters in between two of my toes. Who knew that was even possible?!
