We've all heard the story of the Good Samaritan. He was on a journey but stopped and helped a bruised and broken man. He didn’t make excuses saying, “It’s none of my business.” It was a golden moment, and he took it. All around us are people who need the compassion of Christ. They need us to see their pain or situation as a golden opportunity to serve them. The chief enemy to kindness is busyness. My goodness! After all we have priorities----our jobs, our meetings, our responsibilities, and sometimes we’re just too busy. But if we’re too busy to be kind, aren't we TOO busy?
Let's look at our schedules for just a second. If someone wanted to talk to you about something as you were rushing out of the workplace, would you stop to listen? Really listen? Or as you are frantically trying to get out of Wal-Mart, would you help that elderly lady find her multi vitamins --you know the ones in a tall skinny white bottle with a square yellow label? Ouch!
We've all been there! Let's accept the challenge to be more open to opportunities to share love and kindness. Let's go out of our way as we go on our way!
A very nice reminder!
