Block of the Month

Marilyn and I have just finished piecing the two quilts that we did through the area quilt shop's Block of the Month project. We did their block each month, and then we did the second one using our own fabric (scraps) for two quilts each. 

We recently signed up for our second year.  Here are the first three months we will be piecing. I love the colors.

RV and Rodeo 

On Thursday, we hooked up the 5th wheel and went to Joe Pool Lake again. I took my sewing machine to work on some quilting, my bible study material, and another book. What more could I need! Friday we spent with Jenna. After dropping her car off for some minor repairs, we had lunch. That evening she and Jared picked up food for dinner and came out to the lake. We ate and played cards. 

On Saturday I worked on my quilting project and read. It was such a beautiful day Rick and I walked  around the park. 

Yesterday, Jenna and Jared went with us to the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo. This is an annual event we always look forward to. It was also daddy's birthday. He loved that place and never missed attending the parade and rodeo each year!  Oh, the memories that overtake me every single time I see (or smell) the arena, animals, barns, flags....everything. 

We drove home this morning after breakfast. Ready to go camping again!

SKIPBO

When my children were growing up, my mom used to really enjoy playing SKIPBO with them when they stayed with her. I can still see her at the kitchen table now with one of the kiddos, the cards, and this crazy fun little card shuffler.  

Roll forward "a few years." Here are my cards and a cute little card shuffler.

The last two times Jonah and Glory have stayed here with us I've managed to talk them into a game or two. I'm not sure who enjoys it more (probably me).

Pursuing the Closeness of God

Loving our ladies' bible study. Oh Lord, we do want to always be near you.

Love My Ladies' Bible Study Group

We just kicked off our new ladies' winter bible study here at the house last night. I really prayed about which study God wanted us to do. I was headed in another direction, but God prompted and confirmed this was the one. I love it when He does that!! 

This is not the first of Angela Thomas's studies we have done. She tells us in the forward that "Stronger" will help you realize you do not have to live in weakness. "God is stronger than every struggle you will ever face. Because of Jesus Christ, your life has been hidden in Him, made alive in Him, filled in Him, brought near to God in Him, and blessed with every spiritual blessing in Him."

I can't wait. God is going to do miraculous things!
