Tolerance vs. Intolerance

Tolerance. A prized virtue today. The ability to be understanding of those with whom you differ is a sign of sophistication. Jesus, too, was a champion of tolerance:

*Tolerant of the disciples when they doubted.

*Tolerant of the crowds when they misunderstood.

*Tolerant of us when we fall.

But there is one area where Jesus was intolerant. There was one area where he was unindulgent and dogmatic....

As far as he was concerned, when it comes to salvation, there aren't several roads . . . there is only one road.... There aren't several paths, .. there is only one path. And that path is Jesus himself.

That is why it is so hard for people to believe in Jesus. It’s much easier to consider him one of several options rather than the option. But such a philosophy is no option.

Shout To The Lord
Darlene Zschech

My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love

My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord
All the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name

I sing for joy at the works
Of Your hands
Forever I'll love You
Forever I'll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You

Teasing and Tortillas

We are thankful Jonah is feeling better today. (Check out the gourmet meal he chose for the evening! Just glad he was eating.) He was smiling, playing and teasing us. Now if we can get Glory and PaPa feeling better!

Oh yeah. The rest of us had Chicken Tortilla Bake. Here's the recipe.

Ingredients
3 cups shredded cooked chicken
2 (4 oz.) cans chopped green chilies
1 c. chicken broth
1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 small onion or onion salt
12 corn tortillas
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Directions

In a bowl, combine the chicken, chilies, broth, soups, and onion; set aside. Warm tortillas in the microwave according to package directions. Layer half of the tortillas on the bottom of a greased 9X13 baking pan, cutting to fit pan if desired. Top with half of the chicken mixture and half the cheese. Repeat layers. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
