Christmas 2023

Back-to-Back State Champs!

Once again as the saying goes....."Teams to Remember Play in December!" After six weeks of playoff games including getting to play and ending up at AT&T Stadium, we can say we are the State 3A D2 Champs AGAIN! We won that title yesterday afternoon with a perfect season record. What a ride! 

Jonah received "First Team Guard" as well as "All-Texomaland Offensive Line" and "Academic All-District" awards. 

We are so happy that Jonah will get another ring, and sis, Glory, will get one as well as a student trainer.

 Football, Thanksgiving and Marlow's Birthday

Our Tigers had a playoff game on Friday in Arlington. We are so fortunate to still be winning. Our goal --- back-to-back STATE titles! All the family met up there at the stadium to watch a terrific game. Jared and Jenna came on to the house for the weekend. 

Justin worked on Thanksgiving Day. Keelie and the kids went to have a meal with him at the station. We had our family Thanksgiving on Sunday. We also had a party for Marlow's 8th birthday so the cousins could celebrate with her. So blessed!

 

 

 

 

Camping and California

Rick and I were able to squeeze in five days of camping at Ray Roberts the first of the month. We sure have missed getting to use the RV as much for various reasons (surgeries, games, etc. )  But we do hope to rectify this somewhat next year. 

Then last week Tim, Rick and I went to see Marci in California. We left on a Saturday and came back on Wednesday. This schedule prevented us from missing Jonah's football game. (His games have been priority since it is his senior year!) Marci took us to some of our favorite spots again which included Coronado Island, Camp Pendleton, a couple of favorite piers, and the beach. A repeat favorite that the guys wanted to do again was John Wayne's burial site and his boat the "Wild Goose. She was a great host and provided most of our meals on the back patio which we love! Unfortunately, Donnie was out of town.

So hard to believe that Jonah turned 18 years old! It just doesn't seem possible. He loves his family, friends, and Jesus! It's going to be a great senior year. We are so proud of him and love him dearly. 

And then Miss Glory....

Glory has just turned 15! Wow a freshmen in high school and now has her driver's permit! This girl is the sweetest friend to many! She, too, loves her family, friends, and Jesus! She is always on the go. We love this girl so much!

Road Trip

We did a quick trip with Marilyn and Rickie to New Mexico this past week. They needed to check on the cabin. Good thing they went. The refrigerator had gone out and there was an issue with the water. They took care of everything, and it all worked out. We had some good meals and enjoyed going into Red River and Taos.

Today our sweet Glory was baptized! What a great decision she has made. Thank you, Lord!

Fireworks Season

Our July 4th season activities began June 14 and continued through July 4th! The spreadsheet was created and meals were planned once again for three weeks. 

We had plenty of pool and park time. Keelie helped us get all the kiddos to the mega sports camp one of the weeks. She did a fabulous sleep over one night; the girls absolutely loved it! Tara and Jenna helped with pool time at a nearby pool. 

The guys had three city shows and two private shows again this year. 

 Mission Trip

Justin, Keelie, Glory, and Molly went to their week-long mission trip to New Mexico. Jonah stayed back to do his workouts. I know this is always a special time for them.

2nd Year of Swim Competition 

Marlow and Jackson participated again in summer swim competition. Jackson is getting more comfortable with his races. Marlow received the overall first place backstroke swimmer award! 

 

Beach Trip 

Jenna and Jared asked us to go with them on their beach trip this summer. We flew out Friday to Anna Maria Island in Florida and came home Tuesday evening. What a great trip! The beach was awesome with beautiful white sand and no worries about little sand creatures. We had some great food. The time together was perfect.
