EASTER 2014

We had a lovely Easter service Sunday at church followed by our meal at Marilyn's.  I think this was the first Easter in a while that Justin had not been on duty. What a beautiful day!

New Orleans

After the Mardi Gras craziness had settled down, we took a quick weekend girls' trip there. I was the only one of the three who had not ever been there before. First stop....beignets at the renown Cafe Du Monde. The business has been in the French Quarter forever. I know why! Day or night 24/7 they are busy. It's unbelievable how many they serve in a day's time.

One of my favorite tours was Mardi Gras World. This is a behind the scenes tour of how they design and make all the floats.

We stopped at a local bakery to get an awesome poor boy.

We had desserts at Emeril's. Couldn't go wrong with any choice!

We toured some plantations and took a couple of city tours which are always a great way to learn the history. Both of our tour guides experienced Hurricane Katrina first hand--surviving and rebuilding. Hearing their stories was amazing!

Spring Camping 

We took the first camping trip for this spring over to Lake Ray Roberts. It was just so peaceful there. 

The second trip out was down to Joe Pool Lake. That has become a favorite as well. Jenna and Jared came to hang out on Friday night. Jared grilled for us. We enjoyed going to dinner on Saturday with his family. Then on Sunday we went to church and brunch together.

Quackers!

Love having ducks and geese around the place. Their noise doesn't even bother me!
