Going, Going...Gone
Marilyn, Greg, Chad, Jenna, and I are leaving for Washington, D.C. in the morning. Marilyn is the only one that has been there before; she is our official trip planner and guide. We are looking forward to touring the White House, Capitol, and all the museums. Quite by accident, we will be there to experience the cherry blossom festival as well. Who knows what craziness we will see as a result of all the action that has come down the pike in the last couple of days there. We will be taking some detours on our own. We've rented a car for one day to go out to Mt. Vernon. I think I may learn more on this trip than I could ever imagine!
Enjoy your trip sweetie.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of the politics, DC is a great place to visit...safe travels and take plenty of pictures to share!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness that will be a BLAST!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave lots of fun!!!!
Have a wonderful time. There is LOTS to see. I can't wait to see your pictures. My favorite memorials are FDR, Albert Einstein and Korean War... My son HAD to have his picture with Abe the last time we were there. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unkown is very moving.
ReplyDeleteI have the name of a wonderful driver with a 15 passenger touring van, should y'all be interested...
Have fun!
Oh have fun! Cait went 2 years ago and just loved it! Her favorite part of the trip (besides the Library of Congress - she is her mother's daugher lol) was Mount Vernon. She said it's absolutely gorgeous and she has the pictures to prove it! Have a great trip and ignore all the nonsense :) Kathy
