Snow Makes For More Fun Than Ice

Keelie and the kiddos came over today to hang out for awhile. They came with a change of clothes and READY TO PLAY! Papa and Keelie took them out sledding behind the Rhino. So fun to watch them!

This evening we slid down to Marilyn and Rickie's for dinner. Got to visit with Greg and Anja!

A Real Snow Day

It began really snowing (not ice!) this morning here in North Texas. So much so that the school decided to dismiss at 11:30 because the conditions were changing so quickly. This week we have had sun, rain, sleet, and now snow. Just listened again to the weather forecast for the next week or so. By Tuesday, it is suppose to hit 72! Only in Texas......

Ice Day 2

Yesterday was another great day. Rick and I both slept in. It's not unusual for him but for me - yes.  I did a little paperwork to get ahead since I'm going to be gone next week. Then I made myself some broccoli cheese soup using fresh broccoli. We've enjoyed the warm fire that has been going and also watching the little critters around the place.

Justin walked over while he was checking on his new little chickens. They have all survived this winter blast so far. He and his dad have it going with those birds! I have got to venture out soon and get pics of the new chickens!

 Snow Ice Day

Everyone got the call relatively early last night.  NO SCHOOL!

Teachers and kiddos slept very well if I was guessing. Not sure about parents.

I got excited, and I didn't even have to be there. This morning brought more sleet as the clock ticked off the hours.

All sleet!

Jonah slid over first this morning. He stayed until after lunch. The checker stacks tell how I faired in the game!

After lunch it was Glory's turn to slide over through the pasture. She beat me in cards.

She wanted a few minutes out in the white stuff. It was cold!!

Now it's just Rick and me by the fire.

Other accomplishments for the day have already included:  taxes done and Shutterfly prints ordered! Oh yeah!

BTW the call has already come through this afternoon. Another Snow Ice Day tomorrow!

What a Difference

Saturday was an unbelievably warm 74 degrees. Today was 34 degrees. Yep...it was a perfect day for firewood, a pot of soup and some quilt-fabric cutting! Can't wait to see what tomorrow's weather will bring.

A Beautiful Weekend and Valentine's Day

This weekend has been beautiful. These are the things I have loved so far (in no particular order):

 1. Fresh flowers and a sweet card from the hubs
 2. Family time
 3. Fresh tilled soil in the beds
 4. Lunch with Jenna and Marilyn
 5. Geese gliding around on the full pond
 6. Sunny and 74 degrees yesterday
 7. Valentine dinner at Justin and Keelie's
 8. The BEST filet cooked by Dave
 9. Hugs from the fam
10. Rocking sweet Anja on the patio
11. Gluten-free brownies (Yep....so good!)
12. Quilting time
