He Just Keeps Melting My Heart!

This five-year old's eyes and dimples get me every time.

Jonah was helping us unload some firewood today. I couldn't resist......the camera was a hop, skip and jump away!

Hope your day was as beautiful as ours was here in North Texas (a warm 75!). We will be using that firewood though this next week as a big front is headed our way.

Cowboy(ing) and Boutique(ing)

Yesterday Justin helped his dad get some cows loaded to go to the sale. I couldn't resist getting a few shots of them out there because they looked so cute. No cowboy attire needed here.... just a guy with his cap, two pair of sunglasses, and a BIG stick. The younger Ferguson guy had his sweat pants, boots, and fire department cap.

The cows didn't know the difference and cooperated for them. Shortly after being loaded, we were off to take them to the sale barn about an hour away.

Jonah and Glory rode with us. They enjoyed the ride thanks to the DVD player and Dora! Jonah kept wondering why we didn't buy more cows to load up and bring home with us.

Next, we stopped at McDonalds for the kids.

Back home I got this pic of Glory after her bath. She had just crawled up in the chair and covered herself up. This little cowgirl was pooped!

I can't fail to mention that earlier in the day I got to go shopping with Keelie for her birthday and in celebration of some other "goals" met. She found some really cute stuff at a great boutique. Although our lunch plans changed locations, it was still a nice meal. As we had just read on a greeting card there in the boutique, "it's not so much about the food on the table as who's in the chair!"

It's a special Hug Day!

Today is National Hugging Day.

Of course, hugs are good for you. They show care, love, and concern. It's something you can give and receive at the same time. Watch the reaction....most of the time, you get one back with a smile!

Hug Song

  • (Fred Small)
  • I wanna hug when you say hello
I wanna hug when it's time to go
I wanna hug because everyone knows
    Hugging is good for you
    I wanna hug, it's a wonderful feeling
Wanna hug, it helps with (it's part of) the healing
    Wanna hug, because hugging feels
Like a natural thing to do.

Hugs to you!

Learning from Abraham

What are we learning from Abraham so far?

1. Trust God. He always knows what is best for our lives.
2. God is always working in our lives.
3. God keeps His promises.

Served this at one of our nights together. One of the ladies said, "Take a picture of this." Actually, I'm glad I did because you always just get pics of desserts from me! So let it be recorded, here's a SALAD!

A Full Snow Day

Like so many around here in North Texas, we got an unexpected snow day. One of the best things for me was the roaring fire we had going in the fireplace. Rick had plenty of wood for me, so it was no big deal to occasionally throw a log on throughout the day.

One of the first things I did was to read this. If you have not read it, you NEED to ASAP! You can do it in three hours or less.

Then I did my Bible reading and lesson for the ladies' study.

Then I made these chocolate covered oreos. Y.U.M.M.Y!

Next, I made an 8x8 photo book of our Savannah trip. The best part of this -- it was free!

Then I made beef stir fry for dinner. Justin and the kiddos came while Keelie was giving her art lessons.

Jonah is spending the night.

After hot chocolate and a bath, he's asleep, and the fire is still roaring.......

A great day!

Our Snowy Sunday

Texas Blogging Gals have been busy today. If you live elsewhere, then it might not be a big deal but it snowed here today. I know several of my blogging friends get it all the time and LOTS of it! So humor us as we have grabbed our cameras and taken a shot or two. I'm just sharing this one taken from my front porch this afternoon.

A New Study

My ladies' group will be starting back this evening. We are doing Beth Moore's "The Patriarchs." Many of us have done her studies before; however, only a couple have done this one. I know it will be challenging but a real blessing! I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you have done it before.

Eeeewwwww.....

Yeah, that was me this morning.

I had been off for two weeks. No thought of work or anything really related to it.

Digression....the last day of work before the Christmas break, a company came out and rekeyed my office. They handed me a ring with five new keys on it as I was preparing to leave the building.

Back to this morning. Something hit me about 6:30 a.m. that I had not seen my keys. I searched the car, two purses, all my pant pockets, and jacket pockets. I searched all the little tote bags I carry around, and again I searched the car, two purses, all my....

Finally, I went on in. We called Lock Doc and waited a couple of hours. Two nice guys--one of which had rekeyed my office--came out. They opened my door, and there on my desk --- four new keys. Then it hit me!

That day two weeks ago as I was leaving I quickly took one of the keys and put it on my keyring! I had it all the time!

Eeeewwwww! Yes, you have permission to laugh. Everyone else did.

I did, too.

P.S. Those nice guys did not charge me!

Reflecting on 2010 Travels

I loved the opportunities that God gave me to travel this year. I was blessed with several trips and do not take them for granted. I humbly thank Him for each one!

Big Bend (Rick)

New England tour (ladies)

Savannah trip (ladies)

Washington, D. C. (kids)

Gruene/Fredericksburg trip (Rick and kids)

(Keelie and I had talked about a girls' trip to Hot Springs, but the calendar got too full. HOWEVER.....it could and should happen!)
