M's Grandchildren

Greg, Lisa, and the girls came to Texas from Tennessee this past weekend. Greg and Lisa went to Houston to meet up with Chad and Tara for them to go to Round Top Antique Show. They got to M's Saturday night. Sunday morning before Greg and Lisa left, we all had breakfast for both our families. The only two missing were Chad and Tara. Although it was for just a short time, we had a great time. It was super fun having all our grandchildren together:  Jonah (11), Glory (8), Anja (2 1/2), Marlow (16 months), Isabel (8 1/2 months), and Molly (7 1/2 months).

Marilyn had the girls until today. I enjoyed helping out when I could. It sure is easier to have a helper!

Jenna's Pregnancy

Jenna is now well into her third trimester. Our newest grandson is scheduled to arrive on or before May 9. Marlow will be 17 months old at that time. I just know she will be a great big sister. Jared and Jenna both are getting pretty excited to meet their son (as we are!).

This past weekend we went to Mansfield on Friday. We picked Marlow up from daycare. We all pitched in and, for the most part, finished the new nursery on Saturday. After church on Sunday, we went to brunch and then headed home.

Crossing my fingers they get to come here this weekend so that we can be together with Justin, Keelie, and the kiddos.

I cherish family time!!

California Coast Trip

This year for our spring break we flew into San Jose, California. We traveled down the coastline and then went inland to make a large circle. We travel over 1100 miles and had superb weather while we were there! Accommodations included some of the best and a couple of not-so-good hotel rooms. We had a great time.

Highlights of the trip included:
  • Highway 1 coastline ( including Carmel, Monterrey, and Pebble Beach)
  • Hearst Castle
  • Sequoia National Forest and King Canyons National Park (still with snow)
  • Muir Woods
  • great bakeries and diners
  • a mission
  • San Francisco city tour
  • Tor House

Love these!

We still have the ten we raised. I think they are so interesting to watch. Weird "ducks" for sure.

Shellye Cohagan Gressett
1974 - 2017

Cheyrl and Rick's oldest daughter, Shellye, entered heaven's gates on February 22. She is finally at peace. Shellye had battled horrible anxiety, depression, and then for about seven years alcohol addiction. These diseases are so real and affect many more lives than we will ever know.

It has been a long six days; her funeral was yesterday. Her life touched not only her family and friends in Gunter but Tioga and her school in Frisco. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She had an infectious smile and laughter. The service was such a beautiful tribute to her. The pastors did a great job. Her sister and husband spoke; only by God's grace did they get through that.

Praise the Lord that Shellye was secure in her salvation! She was a beautiful, loving person. She left behind an amazing family; I know they will be there to lift each other up on the difficult, hard days ahead.
