Update
Rain and more rain
All the fans "waiting"
Incredible meals
Nice facilities for camping
O-"zero" races
Under the canopies alot
Time with family and friends

On Thursday when we got to Texas Motor Speedway, I did one of my lessons from our "Victoriously Frazzled" ladies' bible study. Here's something I read:

" God allows circumstances in our lives that force us to give up control. While we may not have any control over the circumstance, we certainly have control over our response to it."

So when the rains hit the next day, I instantly remembered what I had just read.

Attitude is everything! By nature, I usually go with the flow. No way would a little rain (actually alot of rain) spoil the weekend for me. We just pulled out the cards, turned on the music, grabbed another Diet Coke and started playing.

And the rains came down.....

  2. I am so sorry that the weekend races were rained out. It sounds like you all made the best of the situation and just enjoyed family time together. Hopefully you got some much-needed rest. It was sunny here all weekend. No rain in sight. Go figure! Love & blessings from NC!

  3. A card game sounds like fun. You must be camped out from me tonight about 6 miles away. I just posted about Nascar weekend at my place. Stay dry and I hop that you get to see the race tomorrow.

  5. I'm sorry you got rained out. :o( My daughter was thrilled about the rain though. She pulled the Dodge Neon out of the carport to get a 'free' car wash. LOL! With all the dust from our two miles of dirt road, we take any chance for a free rinse. :o) My hubby was so so so glad that the rain held off yesterday. He spent the day grading the road again and got rid of our 'mini' lake in the middle of our road. He didn't want to get bogged down out there.

    Ahhh...life in the country!

Hopefully you will get another weekend for races soon. I have to say that Diet Coke makes everything just a little bit better..don't you think?
