Happy 70th Birthday Wizard of Oz!

Didn't we all love Dorothy!

And what little girl didn't want a pair of these!

Or one of these...........

And finally some lessons we can learn from Dorothy and her friends............

1. Be aware that what we do affects other people. This awareness helps us make better choices and build better relationships.
2. We are all flawed and incomplete in some way. No one is perfect. It is how we deal with our flaws that form our character.
3. Don’t let life “stuff” bring you down.
4. It is through trials we learn and grow.
5. Things are not always what they seem. And that, my friend, can be a really good thing!

  2. 70? Did you say 70? Wow. To think I watch this movie nearly every year and it's not lost it's charm.

Great life-lessons you've drawn too! One I'll add: Never wish you were somewhere you aren't.

    Hugs,
    Kathleen

  7. Along the lines of "There's no place like home", Dorothy realized like Anne of Green Gables did that the good things had been there all along, but she almost missed them by wishing to be somewhere else. By longing for what they didn't have, they didn't appreciate what they did have.

  9. I have always loved this movie! I used to have a poster on my wall that said "Everything I Know I Learned from the Wizard of Oz". It was great. I always remembered this one "Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable." I can't believe the movie is 70! Thanks for sharing!
