Two Mailbox Surprises Yesterday

First.....I received two books from Linda at Mocha with Linda. I can't wait to start them.

Second...We received a thank you card. Not so out of the ordinary (well, maybe it is....). Except this was from a young couple that we had as July 4th guests. She had written a sweet note letting us know how much they had enjoyed the family, food, and fun during the holiday weekend. Very thoughtful.

  4. I think because I grew up in the country I have a special fondness for the mailbox! I couldn't wait for the mailman to go past the box at the bottom of the hill. It was especially disappointing to see him fly (really fly) past without stopping. Even today, when I am coming home from work I am anxious to see what I might find that will delight me when I open the mailbox. Thanks for the memories this post stirred~ Diana

  5. Show us the books please!

Thank you notes are wonderful. I always made my kids write thank you notes to everybody - even grandparents after birthdays and Christmas. Gratitude is EVERYTHING!

  6. Snail mail is so fun. I look forward to Christmas because you get all the Christmas cards instead of "junk". That was so nice of them to send a thank you note. Such a kind gesture.

  15. People just don't do a lot of postal mail let alone thank you's nowadays... it's so refreshing when you get a surprise like that! I try to send somethng to my parents at least once a month... a funny card or a even a crayon drawing made by my grandkids (or me!)... even though mom and I email regularly. They love it!

    Such fun blessings!
