Two Mailbox Surprises Yesterday
First.....I received two books from Linda at Mocha with Linda. I can't wait to start them.
Second...We received a thank you card. Not so out of the ordinary (well, maybe it is....). Except this was from a young couple that we had as July 4th guests. She had written a sweet note letting us know how much they had enjoyed the family, food, and fun during the holiday weekend. Very thoughtful.

Such sweet blessings for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's rare to receive a handwritten thank you these days. How very nice of her! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI love to get packages.....
ReplyDeleteI think because I grew up in the country I have a special fondness for the mailbox! I couldn't wait for the mailman to go past the box at the bottom of the hill. It was especially disappointing to see him fly (really fly) past without stopping. Even today, when I am coming home from work I am anxious to see what I might find that will delight me when I open the mailbox. Thanks for the memories this post stirred~ Diana
ReplyDeleteShow us the books please!
ReplyDeleteThank you notes are wonderful. I always made my kids write thank you notes to everybody - even grandparents after birthdays and Christmas. Gratitude is EVERYTHING!
Snail mail is so fun. I look forward to Christmas because you get all the Christmas cards instead of "junk". That was so nice of them to send a thank you note. Such a kind gesture.
ReplyDeleteThere is NOTHING better than a surprise in the mail... especially old fashion hand written letters!
ReplyDeletedon't you just love getting handwritten notes in the mail...it just makes my day...
ReplyDeleteOh I love mail surprises. Enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to receive things in the mail! And what a blessing to receive the thank you card! That is so considerate and thoughtful on her part.
ReplyDeleteDitto ALL of the above!
ReplyDeleteWhat used to be a common courtesy is now an unexpected delight! Reminds me that I have 2
"Thank Yous" I need to write. =0
How blessed you must be to your guests!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
andrea
Its so fun to get treats in the mail~
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love those surprises that come in the mail, I mean the nice surprises, not surprise bills are things like that!! lol
It just sort of makes your day!!
Happy for your sweet surprises, hope you enjoy your books, and handwritten thank you's are a rarity these days.
Blessings sweet friend,
Nellie
People just don't do a lot of postal mail let alone thank you's nowadays... it's so refreshing when you get a surprise like that! I try to send somethng to my parents at least once a month... a funny card or a even a crayon drawing made by my grandkids (or me!)... even though mom and I email regularly. They love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun blessings!
